Girls just want to have fun, build, and LEGOLAND® Florida is introducing a great way to bring it all together -- LEGO® Friends Weekend on March 24 and 25th, 2012.
The newly introduced LEGO® Friends - Olivia, Andrea, Stephanie, Emma and Mia - will be at LEGOLAND® Florida to host a weekend of fabulous fun geared to girls. A first-ever event, LEGO Friends Weekend is a daytime party that includes a LEGO Friends building event, live entertainment, games and activities. This event celebrates girls and their personal individuality, just like the LEGO Group’s newest line of construction toys.

Event details include:
Olivia’s Girls Just Wanna Build
Girls can get empowered and inspired to build masterful LEGO creations with an opportunity to meet Master Model Builder, Adora. Once the building bug has taken hold, girls (and boys!) can build a portion of a Heartlake City LEGO model.
Andrea’s Heartlake Café
The Market Restaurant will be transformed into the iconic Heartlake Café. In front of the restaurant guests will be able to sing their heart out with a karaoke performance.
Stephanie’s Lakeside Party
Guests will be able to dance till dusk at the end-of-day LEGO Friends dance party.
Emma’s That’s So You Fashion Show
Saks Fifth Avenue is putting on the glitz to show ways to transform girls into their favorite LEGO Friend.
Mia’s Mad About Animals Scavenger Hunt
Kids will hunt through the historic Cypress Gardens using clues to find Mia’s favorite animals. Once completed, guests will turn in their list at the LEGO Friends Shop to receive a prize.

Participation in LEGO Friends Weekend is included in park admission. Come join us as we celebrate girls who love to play and to build and welcome Heartlake City to LEGOLAND Florida.

Check out the new LEGO® Hero Factory located at the Imagination Zone to visit the place where real heroes are built! In this next generation LEGO story, heroes are designed, equipped and built depending on specific missions that beam in from across the galaxy and across time. They are dispatched in hero pods to defeat evil and take on a variety of missions.
Now you can join the fun by building and creating your own heroes! And, don't miss the opportunity to meet and greet with LEGO Hero Factory's bravest leader, Preston Stormer (actual appearance times may vary). For more information, visit herofactory.LEGO.com

Seeds have been planted for a brand new partnership at LEGOLAND® Florida that will bring a new adventure to the park. On March 29, 2012, we'll harvest all the excitement as the all-new Fresh From Florida Greenhouse tour opens. The new attraction will showcase the who, what, where, how and why of “farm to table” agriculture along through an interactive learning experience.
Families can get nose to nose with a variety of Florida fruits and vegetables – strawberries, corn, tomatoes – and learn how they’re grown, harvested, cleaned and eventually eaten in freshly prepared meals. The Greenhouse is the result of a partnership with Fresh From Florida, an initiative of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
We would like to welcome everyone who wants to come have an adventure at LEGOLAND® Florida during spring break. We're so excited that we couldn't wait to share the good news: LEGOLAND Florida has extended operating hours from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm starting this Saturday March 10th and continuing to April 14th, 2012. Parking opens one hour prior to park opening. Attached is our 2012 calendar with updated operating hours for the rest of the year or see our hours on our website.

Partnership will spread important safety messages for kids and families

Streamers flew and smoke alarms beeped as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) kicked off its long-term partnership with LEGOLAND® Florida to provide lifesaving information to families and kids during a press event and special fire safety day at central Florida’s newest theme park.
NFPA will sponsor the park’s fire safety - themed “The Big Test” live show at the LEGO® City Stage where these messages will be incorporated. “The Big Test” is an acrobatic, comedy show in which a cast of characters goes through a series of hysterical antics as they try to become firefighters. There will also be special activities throughout the year that stress the importance of fire safety and acknowledge the critical work of the fire service.

“This partnership allows us to combine kids’ love of the fire service and LEGOLAND to build life-saving knowledge,” said Adrian Jones, LEGOLAND Florida general manager. “We are proud to play this important role for our community.”
“The majority of fire deaths happen in homes where there are no working smoke alarms,” said NFPA President Jim Shannon. “We are excited to join with LEGOLAND Florida to impart two extremely important messages - test your smoke alarms and have an escape plan.”
We look forward to seeing you at The Big Test soon!
A Day in the Life of Jeremy Mini-"Lin"-der: What the Knicks Star would be doing if he didn't have All-Star plans this weekend.
Those with sharp eyes might also spot a cameo appearance by one extremely tall player from the Orlando Magic.
LEGOLAND® Florida is the home of Miniland USA. A crowd favorite, Miniland USA has seven themed areas, including New York City - home to the Knicks, each recreated out of LEGO® bricks and home to hundreds of Minilanders.

This Thursday, February 23rd, come to LEGOLAND® Florida to visit with local firefighters and learn about fire safety at "The Big Test" in LEGO® City. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will join LEGOLAND Florida as the official partner of "The Big Test", an acrobatic, comedy show in which a cast of real characters goes through a series of hysterical antics as they try to become firefighters.
Arrive early as the Winter Haven Fire Department will have an active fire truck in the LEGOLAND Florida parking lot with local firefighters and NFPA staff on hand to answer questions. Then, thirty minutes prior to each showing of "The Big Test" there will be four interactive stations open in LEGO City where park guests can learn fire safety from local firefighters and NFPA representative.
We invite you to join us at the 12:45pm performance of "The Big Test" where the official partnership announcement will be made.

We would like to congratulate the winners of the LEGOLAND® Florida February Junior Master Model Builder Competition: (left to right) ages 9 & Under - Tommy C. with "Big Head", ages 10-15 - Caleb W. with "Double gun", and ages 16 & up - Aris B. with "Phoenix."
You can join us each month for the JMMB competition, on the second full weekend of the month. Check our event calendar for more details. Our March competition will be Ninjago themed.
Can’t wait to show off your creativity? Get ready for Family Day with LEGOLAND Florida at Elder Ford of Tampa. Use your imagination and create the ‘next’ Ford model made of LEGO bricks! Bring your creation on March 3rd to the event for your chance to win LEGOLAND Florida Annual Passes and more!
A panel of celebrity judges including a LEGO® Model Master Builder will pick the winners at the event. See our Facebook event page for more details.
Thank you to all the JMMB participants. We had so many great entries in February it was hard to pick just three.
